Toosii Receives Division I Football Offer From Sacramento State

Raleigh, North Carolina — Rapper Toosii has accepted a scholarship to play Division I football at Sacramento State University as he pursues a long standing dream of returning to the gridiron. The multi platinum recording artist announced the news this past weekend expressing profound gratitude toward Hornets head coach Brennan Marion and recruiter C.J. Pollard. Toosii posted photos in the team’s green and white uniform and wrote that he feels blessed to receive the offer and is speechless at the moment.

Toosii is known for his music hits but he also played football in high school. After choosing music full time he never stopped believing in the possibility that he could one day play college football again. In August he shared footage of training at North Carolina State University and told fans he intended to be on a Division I team next year.

The Sacramento State Hornets are currently 1 and 2 this season following a win over Mercyhurst and Toosii’s arrival to their recruiting class has already created buzz among teammates and fans alike. Current athletes say they are excited by the offer and believe this is more than just a publicity move.

Toosii’s agent praised his work ethic observing that balancing a music career with the physical demands of football is not easy. The agent called the choice courageous and inspirational especially for young people who look up to him. He said that Toosii is pushing himself every day both physically and mentally to be ready if he joins the Hornets for spring practices.

Although he accepted the offer the formal signing cannot occur until December under NCAA rules. It remains unclear whether he will play this season or wait until the 2026 cycle. Sacramento State is bound by recruiting timelines but Toosii’s back story and public declaration have drawn significant attention.

Toosii becomes perhaps the first multi platinum recording artist to earn a full Division I football scholarship. The transition from chart topping artist to college athlete offers a rare crossover moment between music and sport. For Toosii this is a chance to chase a goal that has stayed with him through the success in music and now together with coaches and his own discipline he hopes to make an impact on the field and in the community.
